Win up to £60.00 in The Writers Desk short story competition. Make real money from your writing.

 

Run quarterly, The Writers Desk short story competition aims to find new and aspiring talent, and help you make money from your writing.

 

Let your imagination run away with you! Let anything and everything inspire you. You can submit a story in any genre and on any theme. It can be written for either adults or children. You could try a short story with a twist in the tail, a spooky ghost story, or something entirely different - it's entirely up to you.

 

First Prize: £60

 

Second Prize: £30

 

Third Prize: £15

 

 

RULES

 

The rules are simple and straightforward (no entry form required):

 

1)   Closing Date: 30th September 2010 

 

2)   Maximum length of 3000 words (any submissions exceeding this length will be  disqualified).

 

3)   Entry Fee: £4 per entry

4)   Entries should be sent as an email attachment (or in the body of the email itself) to: competition@thewritersdesk.co.uk with COMPETITION as the subject. Please confirm in your email that you have paid by credit/debit card. Please note that the closing date is for payments as well as entries.  Any entry without accompanying payment after this date will not be entered into the competition.

 

5)   All work must be previously unpublished and should not have been previously submitted to The Writers Desk for critique or editing.

 

6)   The winners and runners-up will be announced by the second week in October 2010 and will receive the appropriate prize money. The winning entries will be published on The Writers Desk website.
